Business Innovation Visa (sub class 188A)

Business Innovation: This visa is for owners with essential business skills. Business owners who want to start a new business or wish to operate existing business in Australia. Applicants must normally be 55 or younger to qualify for this visa.

Requirements for the Business Innovation Visa (Provisional Visa)

Be below 55 years of age –
Have:
- An annual turnover of at least AUD 500,000 in your main business for 2 out of the last 4 years immediately before visa invitation
- An ownership percentage in the following proportion:
  - 51% if the turnover is below AUD 400,000; or
  - 30% if the turnover is above AUD 400,000; or
  - 10% if the business is a publicly listed company
Have net assets of at least AUD 800,000 (can be joint with partner)
Obtain a nomination (sponsorship) by a State/Territorial Government
Obtain at least 65 points on the Business Innovation Points Test below
